BWPA strikes AA Publishing book deal to showcase winning and shortlisted entries

Now in its second year, BWPA is delighted to announce its association with AA Publishing who will be showcasing the winning and shortlisted entries in a stunning coffee table book. Available from 30 September 2010, the book will be a testament to the success that BWPA 2009 had in its inaugural year. As these new and exciting awards grow from strength to strength, BWPA and AA Publishing are proud to offer the winning and commended photographers the unique chance to have their work published and captured forever.

New developments for 2010 - International Year of Biodiversity

In addition to the categories of 2009, we introduced a special award for conservation photography and a category dedicated to British biodiversity and native species under threat, to reflect the fact that 2010 has been declared International Year of Biodiversity by the United Nations.

Celebrating the diversity of the natural history in the UK

An international photography competition, the BWPA was established to celebrate and recognise the talents of photographers of all nationalities practicing in the UK, while at the same time highlight the great wealth and diversity of British natural history. At a time when we're increasingly conscious of the importance of wildlife, habitat and conservation, the Awards encourage photographers, whether professional or enthusiast, to explore Britain’s natural and urban environments, and discover its bounty of wildlife, from birds to mammals, insects to marine life. There are two special awards for young people, schools and community groups.
